I still miss not having a kitchen!
I still do not enjoy the fact of not having a washer or dryer at my finger tips!
I miss having a couch and my OWN space!
The number one thing I miss is Wednesday afternoons at Meme and Papaws!
Every Wednesday I would go straight to Meme and Papaws after school. Meme always made sure there was a cake or something good for me to snack on, half the time I wasn't hungry but would eat to satisfy them. (Papaw always laughed when I got into the chocolate pudding and cool whip and mixed them together on a plate! That is also good with strawberry's and angle food cake!) I would read the very eventful DeWitt Era Enterprise and just visit with them! Sometimes staying long enough to eat dinner. I miss that sooo much! Probably more than anything. It was our time and our time only. After 2 years of these great Wednesday afternoon's they started making sure they were free on "Jessica Ann's afternoon" and if they were gone for some reason they were guaranteed a call from me wanting to know where they were... Most of the time just around town so I would turn around and go back and wait till they got back to the house. I know they miss these special afternoons also because Meme offten tells me so! I call every Wednesday afternoon that way I am still kind of there in a way.
I have realized that its these times that I will always cherish and long to have back! When I am home on break I make a point to go see them on Wednesday's, read the paper, eat something, and entertain them, but really its them entertaing me! It's not the same as it was when I was in high school, but its close enough! I am trying not to cry thinking of how much I miss our time on Wednesday's, but at the same time I am laughing thinking of how much fun we had doing nothing! I cannot wait till next Friday when I get home to go eat lunch with them...I have already placed my order! :)
